back in the land of cyberspace!!

Posted on

wow, it feels great to be back in the land of cyberspace!  I have been computerless for about 10 days due to a hard-drive melt down.  Isn’t it amazing … one only realises just how much a part of our lives, our computers really are, until we are without them for a period of time!  Now, i have plenty of catch up to do!!

Anyway, enough about my computer troubles!  I have actually popped in today to share a project which i have created for 2Crafty.

i love this girly-girl layout of my daughter and the 2crafty chipboard embellishments really add to the texture and design of this layout.

If you are a lover of 2Crafty chipboard, you will be pleased to hear that, Vanessa from 2Crafty, has just released some new products too … they are amazing as always!!  and you can check them out here.

I will be back later in the week with some more creations, so, until then, be happy and keep creating!

sharing the 2Crafty love …

Posted on

to start off the month of April, it was my turn to share some love over at 2Crafty!

Here is what i created …

I featured the 2Crafty “Sybills Name Plate” and the “Emily’s Corner” on this layout.  I coloured each piece with Barndoor Distress ink, and heat set the colour.  I then stamped the chipboard pieces with versamark ink, and covered with clear embossing powder and heat set again.  I really love how the pieces turned out.  They are a great addition to this project!

Till next time, happy creating.

a sketch challenge

Posted on

it has been some time since i last used a sketch to inspire my creativity, and whilst blog hopping this afternoon, i found a sketch that really caught my eye over at Creative Scrappers.

I immediatley invisioned a layout in my head if i were to rotate the sketch anticlockwise.  So, here is my interpretation of Creative Scrappers Sketch #201

the layout features a photo of DH and I just after we were married, and headed on down to Perisher for a skiing holiday (check out the sunglasses!! hehehe!! … ahh, how i wish we could go again someday!

using up scraps!

Posted on

hiya, i had an hour up my sleeve this arvo, to spend some time scrapping! YAY!!  i have completed a fairly simply layout, utilising scraps that have been multiplying on my scrap table.

I have used a photo that was taken back in Jan 2011 during the floods here in Qld.  I really love how this layout has turned out!  especially, emphasising the title by repeating the word “flood” in both large and small letters.  What do you think?

and some upclose pics (as per usual!)

till next time, take care!

creating cards are not my thing BUT …

Posted on

i fiddled around with some scraps of pp and some mixed media out-takes and came up with these ….

the jute and the washi tape make a great finishing touch!! – so from someone who truly believes that cards are not her “thing”, i must say, i have even impressed myself!

2Crafty Project

Posted on

i have been busy creating for 2Crafty again … and ooh, i love playing with these amazing chipboard embellishments!  This project features the 12″ border -”barbed wire” …. the perfect embellishment for this layout.  I created this layout with a rustic theme in mind, thus the woodgrain pp background.  I have also added heaps of washi tape (my new best friend), and paint too.  To find out what technique i used to alter the raw chipboard, head on over to the 2Crafty Blog.

“Just a Country Boy”

[Materials used: Crate & Sass Lass pp, 2Crafty Chipboard, Walnut Ink, Studio Calico & Jenni Bowlin Journalling spots/card, Tim Holtz, Pink Paislee & 7Gypsies Washi tape, Old Tickets, Manilla tag, Date Stamp, SEI Rubons, BG, Creative Imaginations &  Websters alpha stickers, Claudine Helmeth Acrylic Paint, Tim Holtz stamp, piece of sewing pattern paper.]

and of course you will want to see the obligatory close up pic too …. hehehe!

thanks for stopping by, may the week ahead be a happy and creative one!
